| Customer Reviews: Yummmm! This is a Great Waffler August 23, 2010 John N. Schear (Roanoke, Virginia United States) The previous reviews cover it all and I offer one first time use caveat. Do not expect the first set of waffles to be what you might expect of this iron. My first set of waffles was a pure disaster. I was ready to box the waffler and send it back but patience ruled my anger. Let's do it again. This is somewhat bazaar but after spraying the surfaces and following the directions again the next batch and those that have followed were perfect. Now we are testing the ability of the waffler to withstand a whole bunch of use and gaining weight at the same time. I probably should be one of those who might a product low rating because of gaining weight. Not this time. My spouse and I can say nothing bad about this machine. When two different folks can take the ingredients and mix them up a tad and cook them into a full taste waffle then I am fully satisfied. The test of time will be the only remaining delimiter. Oh, before I forget. Do not plan for the process to take just a few minutes. Devote at least an hour and maybe more depending you Mr. or Mrs. Monk coefficient.
The best waffle iron ever. May 15, 2010 Jacki D. Rogers 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am so glad I purchased this waffle iron. It heats up super quick and you can make multiple batches of waffles in a snap. We like ours a bit less crunchy so I use the low setting & they are just perfect. The cleanup is easy too.

I have owned mine for about a year now. On the up side, it does generally make good waffles, evenly cooked (though the top not quite as much as the bottom). My biggest issues with this model are:
1) Messy. There is not much overflow so we either end up with a mess, or waffles that are not whole because we didn't put in enough batter (to avoid overflow). Also, when there is overflow (and believe me there will be) the edge on the bottom is poorly designed in that it catches the batter. So you will end up small amounts of batter hardened along the bottom edge.
2) Control knob broke. The knob on the front broke off shortly after getting the unit. When this happens, *DON'T* try to adjust the temperature dial with your fingers or you will get burned!
At this point, I am wishing I had a different waffle maker. Sorry Cuisinart; but this needed to be designed a little better for this amount of dough.
Good product for a good price February 23, 2010 minibus (Seattle, WA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received this waffle iron for Christmas, as I wanted to make a bigger variety of waffles, and healthier waffles than the brand name ones. I simply use a prepackaged whole grain waffle mix, following the instructions, and then add grated veggies or blueberries. It does take a large amount of mix (about 1 1/2 cups) for each set of 4 waffles, but the waffles are SO much more substantial than the ones in the grocery store freezer! I put the setting on "1" to cook, then cool and freeze the waffles and they are ready for my kids to eat in the morning. My kids love them and ask for the "new waffles" all the time.
I recommend that you spray the iron, both top and bottom, each time with a little cooking spray. No, it's not strictly necessary, but it just makes getting the cooked waffles out so much easier! I also recommend making the batter a little thinner, so it's easy to spread out over the bottom of the iron when you pour it in.
I am NOT a great cook, but this waffle iron is easy to use. I've made several batches now over the last couple of months, and have had no problem with it.
Well satisfied customer February 17, 2010 John Holsberger 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After researching all the different waffle iron units out there, I settled on the name brand that seemed to have the best reputation for quality, and, boy, am I glad I did. It consistently produces 4 beautiful waffles at a time in about 2 minutes, although I haven't used a stop watch for verification. By putting a very thin coating of oil on the plates prior to the initial heating, the waffles are easily lifted from the iron with no sticking. It only took the first session of waffle making to figure out how much batter to pour to prevent spilling out the sides, and even at that, the batter had dried by the time the session was over and was easily wiped off with a damp cloth; meanwhile, the plates had remained "clean as a whistle" and needed no further attention. As a male "klutz" in the kitchen, this waffle iron has done wonders in polishing my image as an accomplished waffle maker.
